Post-Operative Care of Tympanoplasty

Abstract
|

|
If the postoperative course of the tympanoplasty becomes complicated by infection of the external ear or by such a remote area as the upper respiratory tract, allergic rhinitis, a complete healing of the ear would be interfered with a breakdown of the tympanic graft.
Other soares of this interference are development of postoperative cholesteatoma and lateral healing of the graft.
In order to avoid these complications it is essential the canal wall be watched with institution of an early treatment in cases of complications.
